Tied my fly on, got the line in the air, and on that final backcast "SNAP" I caught a tree and snapped my repaired rod. I was bummed cause I hadn't brought another rod. I thought well I might as well try to fish the rod I had just shortened. I broke the extra 3 inches off to get to the last snake guide. It took a few casts to get the hang of the new style. I was glad to see that I could still cast a pretty good distance. I caught this nice brown with a light blue-wing olive and a short rod.

If that is the type of fish you are catching with a broken rod, I would love to see what you are capable of with a normal rod....oh wait I have witnessed that and it is nothing short of amazing!
