Brook Trout

I made this rod for the brook trout that I love to fish for. They are usually found in some of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. I wrapped the rod with threads that resemble the brook trout. Had a good day of fishing.

While in Idaho

I have been in Idaho for the last two weeks lookin for something to do. I did a little work and a little play. Of course i went fishing, horse races, camp fires, build a little fence, cut some firewood, some more fishing, killed and skinned a rattle snake, went for a horse ride, fishing again, and played dominoes with the family. I got this old sheep camp from my grandma. I am going to start restoring it. It had been parked in the same place ever since I was a kid. I was surprised the wheels turned. My dad told me he spent many a nights in that old sheep camp. He said when he was little he woke up in the middle of the night and needed to go outside. well before they went to sleep they had forgot to put the fold down table "UP" along with the pancake mix. So when he got outta bed he landed right on the table. And there went breakfast. He said grandpa was madder than hell at him. made me laugh. I hope to have it finished by Christmas, cause i want to sleep in it on Christmas Eve. It even has a woodstove in it.

Well with the help of some fishing buddies, We have started to find some big fish. Some are a lot closer than you may think, and others you have to work for. Pics 4,5 and 6 are Code's fish I took for him. That is one sweet Brown. I call him Stink Eye.

Underwater Color

Well I finally got out the last three saturdays to really start fishing for the season. Water is still real high and dirty. Cort caught a huge carp by Utah Lake. He fought it for like 15 minutes it seemed like.

Days gone by

Sher will be happy to hear I have no new fishing pics, so I found a few I took last year. The first one is The Castle Rocks. These are in Almo Id. where I grew up. I really liked this pic of the trout. I had the camera ready when I released him. Thought it turned out cool. And the last one is of Redfish Lake in Idaho. I took this pic while I was up helping my dad cut poles. Not a bad place to work.

Whiteout

Sunday morning I left my house at six a.m.. It took about two hours to get to Strawberry. It was snowing so hard I could barely see the turn off and I was only going 25MPH. So I get on the ice and the only thing that wasn't white is a part of the lake where the water comes in from the river. Everything else was white. The ground, sky, east and west, north and south. My tracks I made were filled with snow in about 20 min. So If I couldn't see the inlet (the only thing that wasn't white) I wouldn't know which way to get back to my truck. It was exciting. Caught three nice Cutthroats. When I was leaving I could not see the road and I got too far to the left and got stuck. I dug for an hour with no luck. That is when a new kind of fear came over me. Luckily I wasn't miles from the highway. So I walked to it and waved down help. So then I'm headin home and got to Midway to find out that Provo canyon is closed, cause of snow. So I went and crashed Jeff and Karen's Superbowl party and headed home the next morning. Adventure

So Funny!!!!!!

Ice Fishing

Last weekend I went to central Utah with my friend Jed. It was my first time to go ice fishing. I caught the first one, but it was my only one. Jed caught six. Jed is holding a really nice Cutthroat he caught. His dad only caught one fish also, but it was a hog. 22 inches and 5 lbs. He caught it in the last half hour of a 8 hour fishing day. Goes to show that "Good things come to those that wait". Thayne is the one holding the bent rod. The last pic is me holding Thayne's trophy. I promised him I wouldn't tell anyone that I caught it, If he would let me take my pic with it.
